Responding to the Corona Virus by Inoculating Yourself and Others with Love! Steps to take for yourself and family!
Remember just one week ago today (3-8-2020)? If you walked into a grocery store there was a normal selection of toilet paper, food, and flats of water. You could turn on the TV and watch your favorite NBA team (Lakers of course!), went to church Sunday morning like normal, and spent part of Sunday night prepping your kids, and possibly spouse, for a normal Monday going back to school and work day. Now tomorrow (Monday, 3/16/2020) you might be working from home, with your kids at home; and if you are a college student, you will be attending class online! President Trump is encouraging us not to be in groups of ten people or more to help prevent the spread of this virus.
30 Minutes to 1 Hour Once a Week to Draw Closer to God and each Other!
The word “Soul” in the O.T. means thoughts, feelings, personality characteristics, needs and desires. In other words, spirituality and sexuality are intertwined. We get married to experience the best in terms of closeness to God and each other. Each interaction you have with each other results in a complex cascade of neurotransmitters and hormones that impact every dimension of our life. Experiences of love draw us closer to each other and to God, and actually impact our immune system. One 30-minute conflict can result in negatively impacting our immune system. It takes a full 24 hours for the immune system to recover. Imagine what happens to our soul, our body when there is daily conflict or strife! We need to take time for each other and God. Here is a suggested ritual to do once per week. Modify and change any way you want. Some couples will have a daily time in the morning or evening to meet and follow these suggested steps.
